Hello Everyone, Welcome to Flo Mo Coffee Talk with Lenny and Benny

Hi Everybody!

This is a new blog brought to you by Lanie Ramirez (Lenny) and her uncle, Ben Swinney (Benny).  We are checking out all the top coffee shops in the Flower Mound, Lewisville and Highland Village area and giving you the scoop (see what I did there -- scoop....coffee!).

We're doing this for fun, and an excuse to enjoy good coffee and fun chats.   But also, we want to let you know about the great coffee spots in the Flo Mo area and hope you are able to find some spots where you can enjoy fun, chats and coffee with your besties also.

We'll be updating the blog weekly with a new review so check back often for ratings, reviews and fun pictures.  Enjoy!  Ciao for Now.....

Dunkin Donuts - 1510 W Main St, Lewisville, TX 75067

We had a bit of a controversy on this one.  I (Lenny) loved it.  I (Benny) not so much.  Here is the story behind the controversy.

Overall Rating:  Lenny - 10 (out of 10 with 10 being the highest);  Benny (5 out of 10)

Lenny - I ordered a Cold Brew Pumpkin Iced Coffee which was delish!  The customer service was on point.  We had a very nice lady who took care of us.  This was my first time to go to Dunkin Donuts and it was a great first experience for me.

Benny - I had a Latte and it was good, not great.  The server at the store was really nice.  She joked with us and was very personable.

Coffee Rating:  Lenny - 10 (out of 10 with 10 being the highest);  Benny - 5 (out of 10)

Lenny - For my coffee, I preferred something sweet and that reminded me of fall.   The coffee I had did exactly that.  I recommend Dunkin Donut's Cold Brew Iced Coffee to everyone especially if you're looking for something seasonal.

Benny - My Latte was just okay.  To me, Dunkin Donuts coffee is just average.  Not too flavorful and a bit overly milky and sweet.

Ambiance Rating:  Lenny - 10 (out of 10 with 10 being the highest);  Benny - 5 (out of 10)

Lenny - Dunkin Donuts is very bright inside.  Customer service was good and we had a very nice chat with our server.

Benny - Dunkin Donuts doesn't have the ambiance of a coffee shop, local or chain.  It has the feel of more of a donut shop.  They did have a wooden laminate flooring that was a bit better than your typical Dunkin Donuts.  The lady at the counter was super nice and this is what took the Ambiance Rating for me from a 3 to a 5.  She was a real sweetheart.

The Perc - 115 W Main St, Lewisville, TX 75057

We really loved this coffee shop.  It's amazing.  Totally worth checking out.

Overall Rating:  9 (out of 10 with 10 being the highest)

This is such a cool coffee shop.  We love the downtown Lewisville vibe.  Downtown Lewisville has really got a lot of great things happening lately with Prohibition Chicken, The Perc, The Grand Theater for plays and music, Twisted Root Burgers, and The Perc!  If you haven't been downtown Lewisville lately, check it out.

Coffee Rating:  9 (out of 10 with 10 being the highest)

The coffee here is great.  Served in mugs (like any good coffee shop should do.).  I (Lenny) had a Mocha and it was excellent.  I (Benny) had a Latte and it was very tasty.  Perfect flavor.

Ambiance Rating:  10 (out of 10 with 10 being the highest)

This is where The Perc really shines.  It's in an older building in downtown Lewisville that has been renovated and it's the perfect blend of vintage and cool.  Brick walls and lots of cool pictures and signs all over the coffee shop.  The servers at The Perc were also very friendly and helpful.  The seating is a little limited but that's the only downside.  Really cool place to hang out and have a cup and just chill, reading, studying, surfing or whatevs.

Edison's Coffee ( Highland Village ) [ CLOSED - NOW SIP/STIR COFFEE ]

This was the first place that we checked out and it didn't disappoint.  Edison's used to be Roots and its got the same great coffee and experience as Roots had.   We'll be providing an overall rating for the coffee shop, a rating in the coffee taste, and a rating on the ambiance (the look and feel of the place).  Ratings are 1-10 with 10 being the highest.

Overall Rating:   9 (out of 10 with 10 being best)

Edison's in Highland Village is a great coffee shop.  It has the feel of an independent coffee shop rather than a chain.  The coffee tastes great and it has lots of unique choices and flavors.  The ambiance is top-notch.

Coffee Rating:  8 (out of 10 with 10 being best)

The coffee at Edison's is really good.  There are lots of choices and unique flavors.   I (Benny) had a latte with honey in it that was good (I probably would get a regular latte or one with Mocha next time but it's great to get so many choices).  I (Lenny) had a Frappuccino that was off the charts.  Very good.

Ambiance Rating:  9 (out of 10 with 10 being best)

The ambiance is where Edison's really shines.  The place is big with lots of room and curls around to the back where you have quiet away from the front counter.  The look and feel of the place is like a small, independent coffee shop.  The lighting is cool, a yellow tint and very soft so that it gives you a very peaceful feeling.  Edison's has an outdoor patio out back also that is a cool place to hang when the weather is nice.  Edison's also has live music playing during the evenings sometimes which is cool.
